A Cadet Radio User could be a member of a rifle platoon. The cadet will be required to know how to assemble and operate the PRC349, and be able to send and receive simple messages using basic but correct military voice procedure.
Assessment will be by CFAVs approved and authorised by the Cadet Forces National Signals Advisor. This requirement is met by successful completion of the CFAV ISI course.
On successful completion a badge and certificate are awarded. The CRU badge must be worn below the rank on the brassard.
A Cadet Radio User should be able to:
- Set up, tune and use a PRC 349.
- Establish communications on a radio net.
- Send and receive simple voice messages accurately using a radio and correct military voice procedure.
